Index Burner Made in Germany

New Old Stock Index Mantle Lamp Burner. Made in Germany by Hermann Hurwitz, exported to the USA. The Index burners exported to the USA have standard #2 and #3 burner collar threads so this burner could be used on bases and collars used in the USA The Index Burner is unique in that it uses a fixed wick, and an adjustable outer wick tube for fuel control. • Nice, clean burner, in good condition with appropriate patina.
• Circa  1906.  New Old Stock.
• Complete burner with all parts, including mantle frame.
• Can be operated with a transplanted Aladdin Mantle.
• No dents or dings. one very tiny crack on the burner basket.
• Outer Wick tube is crack free. Flame Spreader is a locking bayonet style. (turns and locks)
• Burner knob works smoothly.
• Uses a 2 inch chimney.
