The Petromax Fire Plunger cleverly combines a century old fire-starting technique by means of rapid air compression. The plunger is loaded with tinder and pressed down forcefully into the plunger body. This simple and effective method creates temperatures of up to 752°F which quickly ignites the tinder. Without electricity, igniter or any other means you’ll have a fire in no time. As an additional ignition option, you can use the fire steel that is stowed inside the plunger. It guarantees a sparking fire start!

The high-grade black anodized Petromax Fire Plunger consists of a plunger and a plunger body. Tinder and lubricant for smooth ignition are also included, stored in the threaded containers at each end, which feature well secured threaded caps. When you unscrew the tinder container from the plunger you can remove the additional fire steel. The Fire Plunger itself can be stowed compactly in the appropriate transport pouch. That way it is ensured that nothing is lost, and the Petromax Fire Plunger is fully prepared for repeated use.
